Dr. Sally Shrapnel

Sally's research focuses on developing a framework for Quantum Causal Modelling. The formalism can be seen as an analogue of Causal Bayesian Networks, a branch of machine learning that aims to learn causal relationships from experimental data.

Her aim is to deepen our understanding of causation in both the classical and quantum world. Sally hopes the insights gained will uncover new ways of processing quantum information that will enhance our ability to learn causal relationships from experimental data.
