In May 2023, the Australian Government launched the first National Quantum Strategy. This is one of many positive signs that the Federal Government’s intention to position Australia as leader in the global quantum technology sector is gaining momentum—something EQUS has been advocating for and exemplifying for some time now.
It’s unsurprising therefore that the priority areas identified in the new National Quantum Strategy closely mirror EQUS’ strategic priorities. In that vein, 2023 was yet another hugely successful year for EQUS; it’s wonderful to continue to witness the hundreds of scientists and engineers around Australia working together to bring impactful quantum machines into our society.
The 2023 Annual Report highlights the Centre’s activities in 2023 in relation to our people, our research and our impact. We thank all our members for their contributions in 2023, and our Executive Committee, Advisory Committee and Scientific Advisory Committee for their ongoing drive, support and advice.
Looking to 2024—the final full year of EQUS—we’re looking forward to seeing EQUS members continue to have a leading role in driving and growing Australia’s quantum technology industry. It’s already shaping up to be a packed year!
