Cornelius Hempel

Cornelius is an Associate Investigator with EQUS.

Prior to becoming and AI, he was a researcher at the University of Sydney in Chief Investigator Michael Biercuk's Quantum Control Lab. His research focused on quantum simulation enhanced by quantum control.

Cornelius is Group Head of the Ion Trap Quantum Computing group and of the ETHZ-PSI Quantum Computing Hub, both located at the Paul Scherrer Institute in Switzerland. He is also the Deputy Lab Head at the Laboratory for Nano and Quantum Technologies (LNQ) at the Swiss National Lab PSI and has an appointment at ETH Zurich.

His research focus is on the scale-up of trapped ion quantum information processors.
