Kwan Goddard-Lee

Kwan is a PhD student at the University of Queensland under the supervision of postdoctoral research fellow Dr Tyler Neely, Chief Investigator Halina Rubinsztein-Dunlop and Associate Investigator Mark Baker.

He is currently working on experimental superfluid dynamics, specifically the dynamics of vortices in a Bose-Einstein condensate (BEC). This will hopefully lead to a better understanding of turbulence which is a complex classical phenomenon which still isn't fully understood. As Sir Horace Lamb said "I' am an old man now, and when I die and go to heaven, there are two matters on which I hope for enlightenment. One is quantum electrodynamics and the other is the turbulent motion of fluids. About the former, I am really rather optimistic."
