Mushfiq was a Master of Professional Engineering student at the University of Western Australia and conferred his degree in July of 2019. Over 2018 and 2019 he completed the research project component of his course with Professor Michael Tobar in the Frequency and Quantum Metrology lab. His thesis looked at the design and construction of electronic cryogenic hardware to create a stable oscillator design at cryogenic temperatures.
