John was a postgraduate student at the University of Sydney undertaking a PhD with Professor David Reilly. His research focused on developing techniques and hardware to enable scalable control and readout of qubit systems. This includes fast millikelvin switching, multiplexed readout, superconducting electronics, and cryogenic semiconductor electronics. John then took up a postdoctoral researcher position in the Quantum Nanoscience Laboratory at the University of Sydney.
