Akhter completed his PhD in 2018 at the University of Western Australia with Professor Michael Tobar. His research sought to create a system to govern quantum mechanical read-out to macroscopic state. He hoped to contribute to the Frequency and Quantum Metrology Research Group which is to build instruments with world-class precision and performance.
