Sahand Mahmoodian

Sahand has a diverse research background: he did his PhD in theoretical classical photonics, then moved to the area of quantum photonics, and is now chiefly interested in quantum many-body physics. His research focuses on studying quantum many-body physics with photons in optical systems where light-matter can be controlled. These platforms can be used to demonstrate the formation of exotic states of light such as states of bound photons. Sahand is also interested in using quantum optical systems to generate useful states of light for quantum information and quantum computing. He also has a record of working with experimental physicists to demonstrate new quantum optical phenomena.
