Ryan J. MacDonell

Ryan is a postdoctoral research associate working with A/Prof Ivan Kassal and Prof Michael Biercuk at the University of Sydney. His current research is focused on developing approaches to simulate molecular dynamics with quantum computers and analog quantum simulators.

He obtained his PhD in 2020 from the University of Ottawa under the supervision of Dr. Michael Schuurman at the National Research Council of Canada. There, he worked on simulating and understanding the effects of chemical substitutents on ultrafast photochemical isomerization.
