Tyler is a former PhD candidate at the University of Queensland. He worked under the supervision of Chief Investigator Arkady Fedorov in the Superconducting Quantum Devices laboratory. He sought to improve the operational fidelity of near-term superconducting quantum computers through machine-learning based control and characterisation.
