Sarath’s research is focused on experimentally developing quantum technologies using solid-state quantum systems and their interaction with microwave and or optical cavities. One of his main research projects was part of EQUS quantum Clock Flagship, exploring superradiant masing using spin defects in Silicon-Carbide and diamond.

Sarath is a lead researcher in both the Low-Temperature Cavity QED Laboratory and the Diamond Nanoscience lab, both at Macquarie University.
