Paul completed a PhD in Physics at the Australian National University supervised by Chief Investigator Daniel Shaddock. His thesis looked at developments in scaling a high power optical phased array. Paul aimed to scale up a high precision optical phased array that could help facilitate free-space links for communication and scientific applications.
