Lyra was a research student at Macquarie University, working on applications of recently developed maser technology. They hoped to develop high sensitivity magnetometry and tunable low noise amplification for microwave frequencies. Lyra started their PhD in 2021 after completing a Masters titled ‘Applications of novel NV maser technology’.

Lyra was also a member of the MQ Centre for Quantum Engineering.
