At the Australian Research Council Centre of Excellence for Engineered Quantum Systems (EQUS), we are dedicated to demystifying quantum physics and inspiring the next generation of physicists through a variety of outreach initiatives. Our flagship event, the National Quantum & Dark Matter Road Trip, sees our team travel thousands of kilometers across Australia, engaging with schools and communities to share the wonders of quantum physics and dark matter research.
In 2024, we expanded our reach to the Northern Territory, visiting Aboriginal communities and schools for the first time, fostering mutual knowledge-sharing and cultural exchange. Additionally, our outreach efforts include trips to regions like Tasmania, where we connect with students through interactive presentations and discussions, sparking curiosity and enthusiasm for quantum science.
We also participate and run events such as the STEMXX Sisters Community Meet and Greet, STEM Camp, STEMPals, Junior Physics Odyssey, Girls in Physics Breakfast and Quantum Art exhibitions.
Through these diverse activities, EQUS is committed to making quantum science accessible and engaging, inspiring future leaders in the field.
The Australian Research Council Centre of Excellence for Engineered Quantum Systems (EQUS) acknowledges the Traditional Owners of Country throughout Australia and their continuing connection to lands, waters and communities. We pay our respects to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures and to Elders past and present.
