The 6th International Conference on Quantum Error Correction (QEC23), organised by the Quantum Theory Group at USYD, took place from 30 October to 3 November at Doltone House, Sydney.

Attended by more than 200 participants, the conference drew leaders from academia, industry and the public sector worldwide. The Quantum Error Correction conference series serves as a platform for the exchange of cutting-edge research and developments in quantum error correction, a field of research dedicated to enabling the development of large-scale fault-tolerant quantum computers.

Chaired by Chief Investigators Stephen Bartlett (Local Organising Committee) and Andrew Doherty (Program Committee), the conference featured an exceptional program of 12 invited talks, 30 contributed talks and more than 100 posters. The presentations dissected advanced research in quantum error correction, encompassing the design and implementation of new error-correcting codes, noise-tailored error correction, decoding and benchmarking, reflecting the pulse of current developments in theoretical and experimental facets of the field.

The event fostered collaboration and discussion among experts working towards the realisation of practical and scalable quantum computing technologies. It received a positive reception from attendees for the quality of the presentations and the organisation.
