Congratulations to Chief Investigator Professor Halina Rubinsztein-Dunlop, Research Fellow Dr Alexander Stilgoe, Associate Investigator Dr Jacinda Ginges and former EQUS Chief Investigator Professor Jason Twamley on their successful 2023 Australian Research Council (ARC) Discovery Projects.

Halina and Alex are co-investigators on a project to measure mechanics at the cellular level using a combination of optical tweezers for measurement of the nanoscale environment around and inside cells and light-sheet microscopy for imaging.

Jacinda is a co-investigator on a project to develop state-of-the-art atomic theory techniques to provide a new level of rigour in tests of the standard model of particle physics at low energies, and to reveal or more tightly constrain new particles or forces.

Jason is a co-investigator on a project to develop advanced technologies, based on resonantly amplified radiation pressure of laser beams, to optically levitate macroscopic (millimetre-sized) objects and nanoscopic (atomically thin) materials.
