The Idea Factory brings early career researchers together to develop their skills in a fun and collaborative workshop. In 2019, the focus is on entrepreneurship and innovation.
The workshop is an excellent opportunity to meet other early career researchers, learn more about working with industry and research commercialisation, and to put forward new ideas and projects.
Over the three days at Caloundra QLD, we will work through tools and methodologies used in ON program, powered by CSIRO. The ON program is purpose built for scientists and researchers to build the skills and aptitude in creating positive commercial, environmental and social impact. You will be applying newly acquired insights onto your research areas such as advanced materials and quantum technologies.
You will learn how to validate and communicate the value of your ideas and develop an engaging pitch that draws people into your story and vision.
The outcome of your EOI will be decided by May 22, when you will need to commit to attending. You will then need to book travel to either Maroochydore airport or Brisbane airport on nominated flights, to be paid by your supervisor. If you are travelling from Western Australia a subsidy of up to $500 will be available. All accommodation and meals will otherwise be provided.
This event is a joint Centre of Excellence initiative involving the Australian Research Council Centres of Excellence for Engineered Quantum Systems (EQUS) and Future Low-Energy Electronics Technologies (FLEET).
The Idea Factory will be held at BreakFree Grand Pacific at Caloundra, Queensland. You will be put in shared accommodation.
The Australian Research Council Centre of Excellence for Engineered Quantum Systems (EQUS) acknowledges the Traditional Owners of Country throughout Australia and their continuing connection to lands, waters and communities. We pay our respects to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures and to Elders past and present.
