EQUS Women and Gender Diverse Physicists Workshop

EQUS is pleased to confirm the final details for its 2025 Women and Gender Diverse in EQUS Workshop.

This will be a two-and-a-half-day intensive workshop, scheduled to be held at Rydges Gold Coast Airport Hotel, 17th - 19th Feb 2025. This opportunity is specifically targeted to EQUS students and research fellows who identify as women or gender diverse and is aimed at creating a safe and inclusive space to share their research in quantum physics and participate in group career development sessions targeted to the unique challenges that women and gender diverse people face in quantum physics.

When: Monday 17th - Wednesday 19th February 2025

Where: Rydges Gold Coast Airport Hotel

The workshop will provide an opportunity to learn from EQUS’ Chief Investigators Prof Halina Rubinsztein-Dunlop, A/Prof Sally Shrapnel, A/Prof Jacqui Romero and Dr Xanthe Croot about their research and personal journeys as women researchers in quantum physics. The workshop format will combine research seminars, poster presentations, group career development sessions with networking and social opportunities. At the end of the workshop, participants should leave with an increased repertoire of strategies to approach their research topics, forming new scientific collaborations and networking skills as well as building their CV and track records, under the lens of being woman or gender diverse person in quantum physics. Participants will also explore topics such as emerging leadership skills and balancing other commitments such as caring responsibilities or academic citizenship and service.

EOIs for this event have now closed.
