Andrew Wood

Andrew is a postgraduate student at Macquarie University currently undertaking a PhD alongside Dr Thomas Volz.

His research focus targets mechanically tuneable fibre micro cavities which offer a versatile system for studying cavity QED. With such a system, he intends to investigate micro cavity polarities as well as NV and SiV defect centres in Nano diamond to expand our knowledge about these sources and realise new ideas for possible applications in new quantum technologies.

Andrew hopes by using the new phenomenon he has discovered and studied, will actively pursue new concepts to develop useful and novel technologies.
